Our 3 Week Best of British Columbia Canada Tour Package: July 19 to August 7, 2020

The Best of BC Canada Tour is offers an action packed activity filled week in Victoria and Vancouver!

Over the years we had so many youth participants ask us if they could stay in Canada just a little bit longer! Clearly after the 2 week Global Leadership Academy experience they wanted to explore even more of Beautiful British Columbia Canada, so we said “yes, let’s make a trip!”  So we researched and asked local Canadian youth and adults about what the absolutely most amazing and interesting can’t miss activities were here in BC Canada.  We then narrowed the itinerary down into this action packed week we like to call our Best of BC Canada Tour!  This 1 week add-on program to our 2 week leadership academies is the perfect value package for our many international youth who have never been to Victoria, Vancouver let alone this part of the world.  This tour is filled with exciting daily adventures such as: whale watching, hiking, shopping, exploring, university campus tours and more!

What will we be seeing on the Best of BC Canada Tour?

Today we get a chance to explore and sightsee in downtown Victoria. There is so much to see, from the iconic Empress Hotel to wandering the inner harbour to the many unique shops and boutiques! After dinner and some group activities, participants will have the evening to wander around the nearby city of Langford.

It’s a day full of breathtaking nature and fun outdoor activities! We will enjoy exploring, hiking, and a picnic lunch at China Beach and Jordan River. After dinner, there’s time for some good-spirited competition at mini golf!

Whales and seals and eagles, oh my! It’s time to see the amazing wildlife BC is known for. We start the day at Fisherman’s Wharf, exploring the are and feeding the local inhabitants: seals! Then it’s one of the big highlights of the Best of BC Tour, and a must-do for anyone visiting BC. 2-3 hours of whale watching action (including possible sightings of orcas, porpoises, humpback whales, or blue whales, as well as seabirds and eagles), out on the ocean safely and securely speeding around to see the most wildlife possible! After heading back to campus, all the excitement from the day means it a perfect night for a games night!

It’s finally time to leave the island and head to the mainland of British Columbia. After the 1.5 hour ferry ride (maybe even including the chance to see even more whales from the decks!), we will settle into our accommodation in BC’s biggest city: Vancouver. There will be time to walk and shop a bit before dinner, and then it’s off to one of Vancouver’s many beaches to enjoy the last hours of sun and the late sunset!

The University of British Columbia is one of Canada’s top ranking universities, and its location could not be more stunning! The campus is surrounded by beaches, full of parks, and is almost like its own city: a learning oasis on the very edge of town. After a tour of the campus and lunch, it’s off to the iconic Science World, an interactive science museum built in a giant glittering ball on the city’s waterfront! In the evening we usually bring students to a sporting event such as hockey, football, soccer, or other competitions that are always ongoing in this amazing city.

In the morning, students will get a taste of Canada at Granville Island.  Formerly an industrial zone, Granville Island is now teeming with people searching out the freshest food at it’s huge markets, as well as hand-made souvenirs and beautiful original works of art in various artist’s public studios. The afternoon is spent at Stanley Park, where city meets dense forest meets ocean! It is consistently rated one of the world’s best city parks, and is an absolute must-see for any visitor to Vancouver. Participants will explore the park in the best way possible – by renting bicycles and touring around it along the “Seawall” that surrounds it! After our last group dinner together, there is free time to explore downtown Vancouver and do any last minute shopping or photo taking!

It’s time to say goodbye to beautiful British Columbia and the Best of BC Tour. Students departing from Vancouver’s airport (YVR)  will have activities and free time planned for them before their pre-arranged transportation to the airport, and for those departing from Victoria’s airport (YYJ), it’s back on the ferry to Victoria!
