Global Leadership Academy + Best of England Tour (3-Week Package)
Session 2: July 25 to August 13, 2021
The Best of England Tour offers a unique and exciting adventure filled trip across England!
With so many youth asking us if they could stay longer after the two-week Global Leadership Academy we definitely knew it was a chance to create the most amazing one week tour across England we could think of!
Our team researched by going to England and finding out what youth ages 12-18 must ABSOLUTELY experience if they just had one week. We narrowed down the schedule into Powerful Youth’s Best of England Tour!
This add-on program to our two-week leadership academy creates the 3 week value package that we suggest to all international applicants who have never been to the UK. This tour is filled with exciting daily adventures, sightseeing opportunities, and fantastic history!
What will we be seeing during the Best of England Tour?
We start the Best of England Tour off strong by diving deep into English history – knights and Shakespeare. First we tour Shakespeare’s home in Stratford-upon-Avon, and then it’s off to explore over 1000 years of exciting history at the picturesque Warwick Castle! But we won’t just tour the castle and learn about its history, we will live it too! Participants will take part in Knight School, learning knight skills (yes – swords!) and then watching a jousting contest by the pros!
The day begins by visiting Sutton Hoo, a 1400 year-old Anglo-Saxon king burial site. After lunch, it’s off to Snape Maltings, a small town famous for its robust art and music scene. We spend the afternoon visiting art galleries and exploring the town. After a traditional English dinner, there might even be some live music to see!
Today’s focus is learning more about the modern history of England, particularly the military history. We go to Duxford to visit the International War Museum, which not only provides a lot of interesting information about World War I and II, but also the chance to see over 200 military aircrafts, naval vessels, and vehicles. Because the museum is located on a former airstrip, history is right underneath your feet at this museum. We head back to campus for dinner, and spend the night resting, relaxing, and recharging their energies – participants are going to need it for the next few days ahead!
After a final morning on campus packing up, we’re off to… London! It’s finally time to explore the capital of England. After checking into our accommodation for the next few days, participants will have the opportunity to shop, explore, and take photos in the Oxford Street and Soho districts, as well as enjoy a dinner out on the town.
Are you ready to see all London has to offer? We start bright and early, visiting many of London’s biggest sightseeing attractions. This includes Big Ben, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, and Tower Bridge. We will also take part in a tour of the Globe Theatre – you’ll never read Shakespeare the same way again!
Today we get the chance to see London from the water AND from the sky! A Thames River Boat tour gives us a new perspective of the city, and from the iconic London Eye, a bird-eye’s view! We’ll also get a chance to explore the riverfront, visit one of the world’s most famous modern art museums, Tate Modern, and take a tour of the Tower of London.
It’s finally time to say goodbye to wonderful England and the Best of England Tour, with students departing at different times of the day. Transportation to the approved locations will be pre-arranged and provided. Students with later flights will have luggage storage available to them, and take part in organized activities (such as a museum visit or further sightseeing), dependant on numbers, flight times, and weather.
