Global Leadership Academy England + Best of England Tour (4-Week Package)
July 10 to August 5, 2022
The Best of England Tour offers an additional unique and exciting adventure-filled week across England!
With so many youth asking us if they could stay longer after the Global Leadership Academy we definitely knew it was a chance to create the most amazing one week tour across England we could think of!
Our team researched by going to England and finding out what youth ages 12-18 must ABSOLUTELY experience if they just had one week. We narrowed down the schedule into Powerful Youth’s Best of England Tour!
This add-on program to our three-week leadership academy creates the 4-week value package that we suggest to all international applicants! This tour is filled with exciting daily adventures, sightseeing opportunities, and fantastic history!
What will we be seeing during the Best of England Tour?
Today’s focus is learning more about the modern history of England, particularly the military history. We travel to Duxford to visit the International War Museum, which not only provides a lot of interesting information about World War I and II, but also the chance to see over 200 military aircrafts, naval vessels, and vehicles up close. In the afternoon we spend some time in the English countryside then enjoy a traditional afternoon tea! Once returning to campus, we watch “The Dig” to get excited for tomorrow’s visit to Sutton Hoo!
The day begins by visiting Sutton Hoo, a 1400 year-old Anglo-Saxon king burial site. After lunch, it’s off to Snape Maltings, a small town famous for its robust art and music scene, and then to Felixstowe. Participants are sure to enjoy dinner: traditional British fish & chips by the seaside!
We say goodbye to the Brookes United Kingdom campus for the last time as we head to Oxford. We will tour the world famous university, and then have the opportunity to explore the city or university museums in the afternoon. After a great day in Oxford, it’s off to London! Participants spend the evening settling into the accommodation and resting in preparation for busy days ahead!
We start our tour of London bright and early with the British Museum, home to more than 8 million works, then it’s off to the trendy Covent Garden neighbourhood for some shopping and exploring. After heading to Trafalgar Square for a few pictures, participants will have some time to shop on world famous Oxford Street or visit the National Gallery.
We start bright and early, visiting many of London’s biggest sightseeing attractions. This includes Big Ben and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. We will also take a tour of the Globe Theatre – you’ll never read Shakespeare the same way again! After dinner, we will continue to explore from Tower Bridge to Monument Square as the city lights up at night!
Today we get the chance to see London from the water AND from the sky! After a visit to the Tower of London, a Thames River boat ride gives us a new perspective of the city, and from the iconic London Eye, a bird-eye’s view! We’ll also get a chance to explore the riverfront, visit one of the world’s most famous modern art museums, the Tate Modern, and enjoy a special evening out on the town to celebrate the final night of the program!
It’s finally time to say goodbye, with students departing at different times of the day. Transportation to the approved departure locations will be pre-arranged and provided, and a travel meal will be included. Students with later flights will have luggage storage available to them, and will have the opportunity to visit the Natural History Museum or another notable London attraction.
